Arc Phenomena and Gasdynamic Effects due to Interaction of Shock Waves with Magnetic Fields II
The already published first part of this paper1 described arc phenomena and gasdynamic effects produced by interaction of shock-heated plasma flow with a magnetic field perpendicular to the flow direction. Currents of density j flowed through electrodes flush mounted on the inside of the shock tube and connected on the outside. The plasma wras therefore subjected to retarding j X B forces direc...
متن کاملArc Phenomena and Gasdynamic Effects due to Interaction of Shock Waves with Magnetic Fields
The arc phenomena occurring on interaction of shock-heated plasma with a magnetic field were studied in order to achieve an approximately uniform current distribution in a certain volume using a number of small electrodes. This is necessary for producing plane gasdynamical effects such as reflected shocks and one-dimensional flow behind them in order to compare experimental results with theory....
متن کاملEffect of Arc-anode Attachment on Thermal Plasma Jet
An interaction of plasma flow with an arc-anode attachment in a dc arc plasma torch was investigated. Statistical processing of the photographic images of plasma jet was used for analysis of an effect of the anode attachment on structure and stability of plasma flow. Deflection, flattening and flutter of the plasma jet was found to be caused by disturbing effect of the arc-anode attachment.
متن کاملGasdynamic Model of Street Canyon
A general proecological urban road traffic control idea for the street canyon is proposed with emphasis placed on development of advanced continuum field gasdynamical (hydrodynamical) control model of the street canyon. The continuum field model of optimal control of street canyon is studied. The mathematical physics approach (Eulerian approach) to vehicular movement, to pollutants’ emission an...
متن کاملNitrogen Fixation by Gliding Arc Plasma: Better Insight by Chemical Kinetics Modelling.
The conversion of atmospheric nitrogen into valuable compounds, that is, so-called nitrogen fixation, is gaining increased interest, owing to the essential role in the nitrogen cycle of the biosphere. Plasma technology, and more specifically gliding arc plasma, has great potential in this area, but little is known about the underlying mechanisms. Therefore, we developed a detailed chemical kine...
